Mexico City, December 7, 2022.- The members of the Mexican Energy Association (AME) elected Abraham Zamora Torres as president and Adalberto Garcia Medrano as vice president for the 2022-2024 term. Zamora and Garcia will lead the association’s efforts to continue contributing to the development of a competitive, efficient, reliable, and sustainable electricity system through the promotion of investment and the participation of the private sector.
Abraham Zamora appointed that one of the main objectives for his administration is to continue building an association that represents the interests of its members and promotes dialogue with the authorities to impulse the development of an electricity system that benefits Mexico.
“The companies associated to AME have a long-term commitment to the country, having contributed for more than 20 years by generating the energy that Mexico needs,” said Abraham Zamora, president of the Association. “Having a competitive, accessible and cleaner electricity industry will help to strengthen value chains and regional competitiveness, and attract new investments,” he added.
AME’s new board of directors will work to materialize the association’s mission: to promote the development of an electricity sector that benefits Mexico.
Abraham Zamora Torres has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, where he has stood out for his leadership and capacity for dialogue between different stakeholders. Adalberto García Medrano is an electrical engineer with extensive experience in energy and gas markets where he has held various leadership roles.
